Next Steps & Action Items
What’s happening next + how to prepare for it
For You/Your Team:
- Valerie: Email the team and ask each person to keep a running list over the next week of the types of things they regularly go to Ken for (excluding substantive legal feedback), with Kylie compiling the list.
- Valerie: Send the compiled list of tasks/team needs to Lexlee (and Ken) once received from the team.
- Valerie & Ken: Schedule and conduct a conversation with Jennifer to discuss her current work hours, review the data on her hours, and ask if she is able and willing to work closer to 40 hours per week, especially during Ken's and Katie's absences.
- Valerie: Have Chelsea begin monitoring Ken's inbox (starting early February), including connecting emails to Time Matters, filing/deleting as appropriate, setting tasks, and flagging time-sensitive items, to prepare for Ken's leave.
- Valerie: Have Chelsea send Lexlee the last 3 Q&A prep documents and corresponding YouTube video links for the AI content experiment.
- Valerie (with Ken): About 2 weeks before Ken's leave, create a list of tasks Diana can do independently and those that require supervision, and determine who will be her managing attorney for substantive client work during Ken's absence.
- Valerie: Consider removing outdated 2018/2019 handbooks from the website and focus on producing more current blog articles instead.
- Valerie: Instruct attorneys to flag memos to Valerie (or Chelsea) that could be adapted into blog content, stripping out privileged information.
- Ian: Run weekly reports on attorneys' $0 time entries and whether all time was tracked, and send to Lexlee (copy Valerie) each Monday morning.
- Â
MOLÂ Team:
- Attempt to generate usable blog/article content from recent Q&A prep documents and YouTube videos using AI, and report back on feasibility.
- Lexlee & Valerie: Review weekly time reports to identify non-billable/paralegal work and discuss with team members to improve billing and time allocation.
