THE NEXT LEVEL

Your next level is asking something different of you.

You are the one people count on. The one who finds a way, who delivers, who others trust with what matters. From the outside, you look like a woman who has it all figured out.

Often, you do.

And still, there is a quieter truth underneath. A part of you that wants more. Not more to do, but more room to grow.

A bigger vision for your work, your reputation, and the kind of lawyer and leader you are becoming.

Here is what many lawyers learn too late:

You cannot grow into your next level from inside the daily rush. Growth asks you to step out, even briefly, and invest in the one asset your entire career depends on.

You.

THE SHIFT

The work isn't to do more. It's to lead yourself first.

Leadership begins with self-leadership. Before you can lead a case, a courtroom, a team, or a firm at your highest level, you have to be able to lead yourself, especially under pressure.

That is not a mindset slogan. It is how your brain works. When your nervous system is dysregulated, your thinking narrows, your decisions turn reactive, and your presence gets thin. When you learn to regulate what is happening inside you, the opposite happens: your judgment sharpens, your presence steadies, and the people around you settle.

Sustainable growth comes from managing your energy, not just your time. This is the foundation of the Empower method, and it is the whole point of these three days.

THE EXPERIENCE

Three days, three movements.

This is not a conference. It is a small, guided reset that moves from the inside out. First you come home to yourself. Then you steady yourself. Then you turn that steadiness into presence, connection, and influence: with your clients, your team, a jury, and the people who matter most to you.

DAY ONE | AWARENESS

Come home to yourself.

You cannot change what you cannot see. Day one is quiet on purpose.

Through guided reflection and journaling, you get honest about where your energy actually goes and what has been draining you. You reconnect with the deeper questions underneath the busyness: why you do this work, what you value, and what the next chapter should hold.

You leave with a clear picture of where you are, and the goals that are truly yours.

DAY TWO | REGULATION

Steady yourself.

This is the ground everything else stands on.

You will learn practical, repeatable practices, grounded in neuroscience, for staying clear when the pressure is real: before a hearing, in a hard conversation, at the end of a brutal week.

A steady nervous system is what lets you think clearly, listen fully, and stay present. That is where real influence begins.

DAY THREE | INTENTION

Connect, persuade, and lead.

From that steady ground, we turn outward. For a trial lawyer, presence is persuasion.

This is where self-leadership becomes leadership of the room. You will practice the skills real influence is built on: deep listening, asking better questions, and telling a story that moves people, whether the room is a jury box, a negotiation, or your own team.

You leave clear on your next level, with a simple plan for how you want to show up and what you will stop doing to get there.

Movement and stillness are part of the work, not a break from it. Expect yoga, journaling, guided reflection, real conversation with women who understand your world, and a few surprises from our sponsors along the way.

What you'll actually walk away with.

You will not leave with a notebook of ideas you admire once and never open again. You will leave with practices. The kind you can use on Monday morning: in the ninety seconds before a hearing, in a hard client call, in the room where you need to be heard, at the end of a brutal week.

A grounding practice for the ninety seconds before a hearing or a deposition, so you walk in clear instead of carrying the last three fires in with you.

A way to catch a reactive moment coming, a demanding client, a dismissive opposing counsel, your own mistake, and choose your response in the pause instead of snapping into an old pattern.

A sharper way to listen and ask questions, so clients feel understood, witnesses open up, and you hear what is actually being said.

A more persuasive way to tell a story, so your argument lands with a jury, a mediator, or a room, because presence moves people far more than volume ever will.

A clear, one-page picture of your next level: what you are building toward, what you will stop doing to make room for it, and why it actually matters to you.

A small circle of women lawyers who understand the weight you carry, and who you can still call months from now when it gets hard.

You leave rested and clear, with practices like breathwork, journaling, and stillness that are yours to keep. None of this is theory you will forget by the weekend. It is practice, repeatable, and yours to keep.

IN THEIR WORDS

Women lawyers who did the work.

"I used to walk into every deposition already wound up. The morning practice from this retreat is now non-negotiable for me. Opposing counsel actually asked what changed. I am sharper, and I am not leaving the room depleted."

- Trial Attorney, New Orleans, LA

"I almost did not come. I could not see how I would leave my caseload for three days. It turned out to be the most clarifying three days of my year, and the firm ran completely fine without me, which told me something too."

- Trial Attorney, Oklahoma City, OK

"I came in thinking next level meant doing more. I left with a one-page plan and a list of things to stop doing. Six months later, I am taking better cases, leading my team with less reactivity, and I stopped dreading Mondays."

- Trial Attorney, Bryan, TX

YOUR GUIDE

Led by Lexlee Overton

Lexlee Overton is a fifth-generation trial lawyer with more than 30 years in the courtroom. She knows the road you are walking because she has walked it: the high stakes, the long days, and the quiet weight of being the one everyone depends on.

Somewhere along that road, she learned the lesson law school never teaches. The way you lead yourself shapes everything else: your judgment, your presence, your influence, and how it all feels to carry. The lawyers who reach their next level are not simply the ones who work the hardest. They are the ones who learn to lead from the inside out.

That conviction became her life's work. Today she coaches women lawyers and law firm leaders to do exactly that, blending neuroscience, mindset, and practical daily practice into something experienced lawyers actually respect and use. No fluff, no hype, just the inner skills that let you perform at your highest level and still feel like yourself.

She is the founder of Mind Over Law and the creator of the Empowered Lawyer Method. This retreat is that work, distilled into three days, in person, at the water. It is her favorite way to do it, because she has seen what happens when a woman finally steps out of the noise long enough to hear herself think.

THE SETTING

Why the beach. Why January.

The setting does part of the work.

There is a reason this is not a hotel ballroom in your own city. Real change needs distance. Stepping fully away from your desk, your inbox, and your usual routine, onto the Gulf coast at Henderson Beach Resort, creates the space your nervous system needs to actually settle and reset.

And January is deliberate. After the holidays, before the year fully accelerates, is the moment to set how you will lead the next twelve months. Most lawyers start the year reacting. You will start it grounded.

Who this is for.

This room is built for women lawyers ready for their next level, at every stage of practice.

This is for you if

You are a woman in the law, whether you are early in your career, deep into a demanding caseload, or leading a team or a firm.

You are ready to grow into your next level and are willing to invest in yourself to get there.

You want real, lasting change, not another quick tactic to push harder.

This is not for you if

You are looking for a quick productivity hack or a louder way to grind.

You want to network more than you want to grow.

Before you ask.

I can't take three days away from work. That is usually the clearest sign you need this. If your practice cannot run for three days without you, that is exactly the kind of thing we work on. Most attendees come back sharper and find everything held just fine.

Is this just mindset talk? No. It is grounded in neuroscience and built for practitioners. Every practice is something you can use the moment you are back at your desk. You will leave with tools, not platitudes.

I'm not sure I'm the "retreat type." Most of the women who get the most from this said the same thing. This is not soft. It is a serious reset for serious professionals who have been carrying a lot for a long time.

What is the time commitment each day?

Here is the rhythm of a full day:

8:00 to 8:45, yoga and breathwork
8:45 to 9:30, breakfast
9:30 to 12:00, morning session
12:00 to 1:00, lunch
1:00 to 5:00, afternoon session

You are done by 5:00, and evenings are yours. Dinner is on your own.

Plan to arrive Wednesday, January 13 for the welcome reception that evening.

Can I arrive early or extend my stay at the resort? Yes, we recommend that you arrive on January 13th. Extended stays can arranged with the hotel.

Your next best level starts here.

The cases will keep coming. The pressure is not going anywhere. The only thing that changes the next twelve months is how you lead yourself through them. Three days. The water. A room of women lawyers ready to grow. A clear way forward.
