Meetings:

 

09.10.2025 | Ben + Laurie + Matt + Lexlee | Goal Setting Meeting

Hiring & Staffing:

  • Jesse Rawson started as a new paralegal today and needs structured onboarding and oversight.
  • The team is still seeking a personal assistant

Systems & Workflow:

  • Intake workflow is being created and the case management system transition is underway
  • The team recognizes the need for better task and note organization to prevent overload as caseloads increase.

Reviews & Evaluation:

  • Self-reviews will be completed by the end of November.
  • Team reviews are scheduled for the first two weeks of December, aligned with end-of-year planning.

Team Culture & Expectations:

  • Leadership emphasized addressing behavioral issues quickly and supporting open, honest feedback across the team.

Project Updates:

  • Need to discuss/implement client satisfaction surveys
  • The first round of performance reviews with self-reviews for the team will be at the beginning of December
  • Review with Laurie the issues raised by Dawn regarding the litigation process, including the example of not providing a courtesy copy to the judge of her response to the motion. Scheduling sessions on working on processes/workflows that can be used in Filevine. Example: instructions when opening a file 
  • Review Laurie and Ben - Dawn identifying herself as the last category as Senior Attorney - this opens the opportunity to discuss that not just about “litgating” cases, but knowing how to motivate and inspire the team and live our team values

Laurie:
  • Laurie to send attorneys the paralegal review form and make sure they complete it monthly

Mind Over Law Team:

  • Send Laura a copy of the Personal Injury Attorney job description.
  • Send Laura the Core Focus and Values statement.
  • Send Dawn a copy of the Property Damage Litigation job description
  • Schedule a meeting with Ben and Laurie to discuss Dawn (week of 15th)
  • Lexlee to continue interviewing for a personal assistant for Ben
  • Lexlee will interview the attorney candidate, James Kelly
  • Lexlee to draft performance review sheets for Ben and Laurie to edit and approve
  • Schedule performance reviews with the team members with Laurie, Ben, and Matt for the first two weeks of December (self-reviews to be sent to team members the second week of November and completed by November 24th, so leadership can have some time to review and do scoring and reviews)
  • Monthly, check with Laurie to see if any reviews of paralegals have been received by leadership from attorneys, so we can review any issues.
